As for foreign citizens, there are 4.418.898 foreign-born people currently residing in Spain which is equivalent to 9,5% of the total population of Spain and the entire population of the Valencian Community, according to the latest statistics from the Spanish Statistical Office.
The British – another important part of Smile Radio’s target audience – represent the third biggest expat community in Spain (297.000 residents), while the population of Ukrainian nationals in Spain is 90.530, and the number of Russian expats reaches 69.454. It is important to note that most expats constituting our target audience live on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, specifically in the provinces of Alicante, Malaga and Barcelona, which are also the major touristic destinations.
